Mashed Potato and Chicken Bake
A great recipe for a hearty potato casserole! A bake this filling and tasty can easily feed the whole family. It doesn't have to be chicken, either — you can also use pork, lamb, or veal.

Step 1:
To make the mashed potatoes, peel the potatoes. Rinse them under running water. If the potatoes are large, cut them in half. Cover with water and put them on to heat. Bring to a boil and cook for 15–20 minutes, until the potatoes are done. Add a little salt to the water as they cook. You can test the potatoes by piercing one with a knife. If it's done, it pierces easily and slides off the blade.

Step 2:
Drain the water from the cooked potatoes. Add the butter. Start mashing and gradually pour in the warm milk.

Mash the potatoes to the consistency you want and stir in the egg.

While the potatoes cook, get the chicken going. Cut the chicken fillet into small, roughly even pieces.

Fry them in a hot skillet until golden brown.

Peel, wash, and finely chop the onion.

Add the chopped onion to the fried chicken. Mix well and fry everything together for a few minutes. Season the meat with a little salt and a little of the spice.

Then pour the cream into the pan with the meat, add the minced garlic and finely chopped dill. Mix everything well. Bring to a boil and simmer for 5 minutes.

Grease a baking dish with vegetable oil. Then sprinkle it with breadcrumbs.

Fill the baking dish halfway with the mashed potatoes. Smooth it out with a spatula.

Spread all of the chicken filling on top. Distribute it evenly over the mashed potatoes.

Step 12:
Sprinkle generously with cheese grated on a medium grater. Put the dish in an oven preheated to 400°F (200°C) for 30 minutes.

Serve the finished dish hot. Enjoy!
