Pine nuts should be fresh, so that no more than a year has passed since the collection, only when using such nuts it will be possible to prepare a medicinal tincture. The freshness of nuts can be determined by their appearance.

    They should be smooth, of the same size, dark saturated color, without whitish spots and mold. The kernel of such nuts should be fresh, white and juicy. However, fresh pine nuts contain a lot of resin, which, presumably, can give the drink an excessively tart taste.

    To get rid of excess resin in the raw material, pine nuts are thoroughly washed and poured with boiling water so that the water completely covers all the nuts. Leave for five minutes, repeat the procedure three times. Drain the water, dry the nuts.

    We put pine nuts in a glass container and pour moonshine. If desired, you can add a little sugar so that the taste of the tincture acquires a slight, barely perceptible sweetness. If the drink is prepared as an alcoholic drink for feasts, then in addition to these ingredients, you can add cinnamon, cloves, orange peel or honey.
