"Emerald Bracelet" Kiwi and Chicken Salad
A tender salad with a savory edge and a light, nutty aroma. A fun new salad — the cucumber adds a fresh note, and the nuts bring an unforgettable flavor!
Cooking method
-
Step 1:
How do you make the "Emerald Bracelet" kiwi and chicken salad? Here are the ingredients.
-
Step 2:
Toast the walnuts in the oven — they'll chop more easily and develop a finer aroma.
-
Step 3:
Cut the chicken into cubes.
-
Step 4:
Cut the cucumbers into matchsticks. I peeled mine, since the skin was tough and not very tasty.
-
Step 5:
Grate the cheese on the coarse side of a box grater.
-
Step 6:
Chop the nuts.
-
Step 7:
Take the platter you'll serve on and set a glass in the center.
-
Step 8:
Arrange the chicken in a ring around the glass and coat it with mayonnaise (or sour cream).
-
Step 9:
Spread the cut cucumbers on top.
-
Step 10:
Add a layer of grated cheese over the cucumbers.
-
Step 11:
Coat with mayonnaise.
-
Step 12:
Sprinkle the chopped nuts on top.
-
Step 13:
Carefully lift away the glass.
-
Step 14:
Garnish with slices of kiwi. Let the salad chill in the refrigerator for about an hour — though we ate ours right away, and it was delicious!
-
Step 15:
Enjoy!
- To make a bigger salad, repeat all the layers except the nuts and kiwi (those go on top only). It's a delicious, tender, fragrant salad — enjoy!
- Homemade mayonnaise is best — tastier and better for you. You can also use sour cream or plain yogurt as a dressing, either on their own or blended with mayonnaise in any ratio you like, which lightens the dish.
