- How do you make a lavash roll with canned fish? Lay out the sheets of lavash. Spread each one with mayonnaise. On the first, scatter grated egg; on the second, grated cheese; on the third, the saury mashed with a fork. Sprinkle each sheet with green onion and dill. Roll up the first sheet, set it at the edge of the second, and keep rolling. Then set that at the edge of the third sheet and roll it all the way up. Put the roll in a bag and refrigerate—overnight is best, so it soaks through. Enjoy!
- How do you choose good lavash? First, check the production date on the package and skip anything past its date. Fresh lavash should smell pleasant. Look it over to make sure there are no stains or signs of mold.
- It's best to make your own mayonnaise—it'll taste better and be better for you. You'll find some great homemade mayonnaise recipes here. You can also use sour cream or plain yogurt as a dressing instead of mayonnaise, on their own or blended with mayonnaise in any ratio you like, which cuts down the calories.
- Give the can a shake before you buy it—the more liquid you hear, the less fish inside.
