  • Cut the oranges into quarters (peel and all), pour a cup of boiling water over them, and simmer until the peel is soft. Add the sugar and cook into a syrup. Peel and core the apples, cut them into small slices, and blanch in water for 5 minutes. Add the apples to the orange syrup and simmer over low heat until the apples are tender. At the end of cooking, stir in cinnamon to taste.
