Cooking method
This simple recipe helps a lot in those situations when you don't really want to mess around in the kitchen for a long time, but at the same time you madly love homemade jam. You can take any cherry plum - both yellow and red. Depending on which berry you take, this color will make jam. In this case, I cooked from a red berry, so the jam turned out to be a bright saturated red color.
First of all, we wash the berries well under running cold water and dry them by throwing them into a colander or a large sieve. Thus, we get rid of excess moisture. After all, we will cook jam without a drop of water.
Then we break the cherry plum in half and extract the bones from inside. After that, put the halves of the berries in a saucepan and cover with sugar. We leave it in this form for 5-6 hours. During this period of time, the cherry plum will release the juice and the sugar will dissolve in it. If it is very hot, it is better to remove the cherry plum in the refrigerator so that it does not turn sour during this time. You can keep the berries with sugar longer. For example, in the evening to fall asleep, and in the morning to cook jam. This method is very convenient from a practical point of view.
Since cherry plum berries are very juicy, then jam from them can be cooked without adding water or any other liquid.
After the cherry plum has released enough juice and the sugar has dissolved in the syrup, you can start cooking jam directly. To do this, put a saucepan with cherry plum on the stove and bring to a boil. At the same time, do not forget to stir constantly, as sugar or berries can burn or stick to the bottom of the dishes. As soon as the berry mass boils, with the help of a skimmer, we remove the foam that has formed on top. Cook the jam over low heat, stirring constantly, for 5 minutes and immediately remove the pan from the stove.
Jam - five minutes of cherry plum is ready! If desired, it can be rolled up in sterile jars or immediately enjoy its bright summer taste.
Bon appetit!
