Brazilian Turtle Soup

An exotic restaurant dish in your kitchen is real. Brazilian turtle soup can be prepared by any hostess, if only there was a desire. It's clear that the dish is not for every day, but gourmets will be pleasantly surprised. The soup turns out not very liquid thanks to the plantan. Plantan is a large vegetable banana, which, as a rule, requires heat treatment before eating. It thickens the soup, makes it more satisfying and piquant. Turtle meat also plays an important role. Its taste is unique, because it is not for nothing considered a delicacy.

Turtle meat contains a large amount of various minerals, iodine and phosphorus. This is due to the fact that the diet of turtles consists of algae, plankton, small mollusks and crustaceans. Turtle meat is also a rich source of zinc, calcium, iron, and essential amino acids. It is worth mentioning the beneficial proteins that are also found in turtle meat. All of the above facts suggest that this type of meat is really very healthy. It is especially recommended to include it in the diet of people suffering from anemia. Vitamins that are part of this meat contribute to improving metabolism, favorably affect the cardiovascular system, prevent the occurrence of cardiac pathologies, accelerate the processes of blood formation. So the dish proposed in this recipe can be considered very useful.

1. We wash the turtle meat, put it in a saucepan, in which we will cook the soup.

2. Fill the meat with clean water. It will take a little water - just to cover the meat.

3. The plantan is peeled. Grate on a fine grater. It will help thicken the soup.

4. We put the resulting gruel in a saucepan with turtle meat.

5. We send the pan to the fire. Cook the soup stirring frequently so that the plantain gruel does not settle to the bottom.

6. After boiling the liquid, reduce the heat, cook until the meat is soft. It will take about one hour.

7. At the very end, season the soup with salt to taste.

8. The blue-smelling head is washed under running water, then finely chopped with a sharp knife.

9. Lay out the soup in portions and sprinkle with herbs.

We serve it on the table.

Bon appetit!
