Nezhenka Applesauce Dessert with Condensed Milk
A tasty, wholesome treat — finger-licking good! Apples are packed with vitamins and iron, which is so good for us. Let me share a really delicious applesauce with a secret ingredient: condensed milk. It comes out tender, almost silky, and just melts in your mouth. Kids and grown-ups alike will be delighted! (The cook time below doesn't include peeling and slicing the apples.)
Cooking method
-
Step 1:
Gather your ingredients. Wash the apples well.
-
Step 2:
Peel and core the apples and cut them into slices. Put the sliced apples in a large pot, pour in a cup of water, cover, and cook over the heat for 20-25 minutes, simmering until the slices soften. If your apples are on the dry side, add a little more water.
-
Step 3:
Once the apples are very soft and falling apart, add the sugar, stir, and cook for another 15 minutes. Stir so the apples don't scorch.
-
Step 4:
When the slices have completely broken down, blend everything smooth with an immersion blender (or whatever's handy).
-
Step 5:
And now the secret — add the condensed milk! Mix well, set it over the heat, bring to a boil, and cook for another 5 minutes. The sauce will bubble, so it's best to keep it partly covered.
-
Step 6:
And here's how the applesauce turns out!
-
Step 7:
Spoon the finished applesauce into sterilized jars.
-
Step 8:
Store it in a cool place.
-
Step 9:
Enjoy your applesauce! Bon appétit!
