This compote will thrill kids and grown-ups alike! Full of vitamins and perfect for winter. In winter you crave a berry compote so much! Thrifty cooks put berries up from summer—canning compotes in jars, drying berries, freezing them. So, it's time to check what's in the freezer. And there's raspberries! And my child is asking for compote... Decided—we're making raspberry compote.

  • Thaw the raspberries—the berries come apart from each other better that way. Rinse them under running water, but don't overdo it, or the raspberries may bleed all their juice into the water and our compote will turn out flavorless. Boil the water, add the raspberries and sugar to the boiling water, boil for a couple of minutes, then cool and let the compote steep. Strain the compote into a separate pot. Serve the raspberry compote strained; you can garnish the glass with a slice of lemon. Delicious and full of vitamins!
