Honey Sbiten
This Russian drink warms you in winter, gives you strength, and lifts your spirits! For the Honey Saviour holiday (Medovy Spas, an Orthodox feast in mid-August), I traditionally make an old Russian non-alcoholic drink — honey sbiten — for myself, my family, and our relatives. It's meant to be drunk hot, usually outdoors, but we bend tradition a little and enjoy it during or after a family lunch or dinner. Here's the simple recipe for this non-alcoholic drink.
