to prepare the Oriental delicacy of citrus onion according to this culinary recipe, it is necessary to dilute the starch with one glass of cold water and stir thoroughly so that lumps do not form. Pour a glass of water into a saucepan and pour sugar into it, stirring continuously, bring to a boil and cook over medium heat for about 15-20 minutes. Then turn down the heat and when the sugar syrup boils, gradually pour in the starch solution, reduce the heat and add finely grated orange or lemon zest. This mixture should be stirred continuously and cooked until our mass thickens. As soon as the onion begins to lag behind the walls of the dishes, we introduce citrus oil, mix thoroughly again and spread this wonderful food on a baking sheet, having previously covered it with parchment paper. Or you can use small square molds in our case, carefully level them, flattening the surface with a spoon that needs to be dipped in water from time to time. Then we leave the onion in the molds for 4-5 hours. Ready-to-eat dessert is cut into even smaller squares, rolled in powdered sugar and served to the table, beautifully laid out in a vase.
