Latte with Syrup
Let the aroma of a hot, fragrant latte wake your family in the morning! Coffee is perhaps the most mysterious of all drinks — its discovery has inspired enough legends to fill a book. They all agree on one thing: coffee is among the most aromatic drinks, with a powerful energizing kick. Its homelands are Yemen and Ethiopia. There's a common misconception that tea is better than coffee because tea has less caffeine — but that's not true: gram for gram, dry tea actually has about twice the caffeine of coffee. There are countless ways to make coffee, so pick whatever method you like. In our family we have a tradition of going to a coffee shop once a week to enjoy a cup. I love a latte — it's simple to make, looks beautiful, and has a gentle flavor. I "wheedled" the recipe out of a waiter I know.
Cooking method
- Here's how to make a latte at home: froth and heat the milk so it forms a nice foam. Brew the black coffee however you like (freshly brewed is best, of course). Pour the syrup into the bottom of a tall glass, then add the foamy milk, and finally pour in the coffee very gently. The drink ends up layered in different colors — white at the bottom, brown on top. Treat the people you love. Enjoy!
