- Cut the mozzarella into thin slices.
- Wash the tomatoes, pat them dry with a paper towel, and cut them into thin rounds.
- Choose a large flat platter and arrange the cheese and tomatoes on it, alternating them.
- Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
- Wash the basil and chop it finely (set some leaves aside to garnish the salad). Put it in a small dish (a wooden mortar), pour in the olive oil, add the garlic pressed through a press, and grind it with a pestle. Drizzle the resulting sauce over the salad.
- Give the salad a finished look by garnishing it with basil leaves.
- Serve the caprese and treat your guests to a refined dish!
