  • How do you make ginger tea? It's simple—just steep it for 5 minutes and you're done. But in this recipe I suggest simmering it rather than steeping it, though of course it's a matter of taste. Bring the water to a boil and drop in finely grated ginger. If you're drinking this tea as a remedy rather than just for pleasure, simmer it over low heat for about 10 minutes so the ginger releases all its potency. If you're using dried ginger, use twice as much and simmer for 20 minutes. Add sugar or honey and stir until fully dissolved. Then strain the liquid and press the ginger to squeeze it out. As a finishing touch, add lemon juice and chopped mint leaves. Again, if your mint is dried, it's better to add it during the simmering. As a remedy, drink it hot. If you'd rather have it as a refreshing cold drink, stir in a little more sugar, let it cool, and serve over ice cubes.
