Cooking method
Beat eggs with sugar. Stir in the milk.
Melt the butter in a frying pan.
Dip the bread into the egg mixture.
Put the pieces of bread in a frying pan and cook over medium heat until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes on each side.
Serve with honey or syrup or condensed milk, chocolate paste is also good.
You can also sprinkle the toasts with powdered sugar and decorate them with fresh fruits or berries to your taste.
Any white bread is suitable for these toasts.
You can make toast for both breakfast and snack.

Europe.
The Austrian and Bavarian term use "Pavian bread", after the name of the city - Pavia, Italy.
In German cuisine, this dish is called "armeritter" (German: armer Ritter — poor knight). And under this name it was very popular in the twentieth century among Russian students and the poor intelligentsia.
In Hungary, it is usually called bukassa (lit. "fluffy bread").
France.
The dish was widely known in medieval Europe. In France, these croutons were called "lost bread" (pain perdu), which reflects the use of stale, i.e. "lost" bread. They were also called "golden bread" because of the color after roasting.
Spain.
Torriha with sugar

Hong Kong.
Hong Kong French toast (lit. "western toast") is usually prepared by combining several slices of bread with peanut butter or jam, then dipped in beaten egg and fried. Served with butter and golden syrup or honey. This is a typical offer in Hong Kong teahouses.
