- Start by prepping the turkey hearts: rinse them, pat them dry with paper towels, then cut them lengthwise, crosswise—don't forget to cut out the veins. Rinse the pieces once more, pat dry, and set aside. Peel the onion and slice it into half-moons. Set the slow cooker to the "Fry" setting, pour the oil into the bowl, and wait for it to heat up. Add the onion and fry, stirring, for 3 minutes. Add the quartered hearts, sprinkle them with the salt, stir, then close the lid and cook everything together on the "Stew" setting for 15 minutes. Pour in the cream and simmer another 10 minutes, then open the lid, stir in the flour, and mix. The hearts are ready to serve!
