    1. Rinse the grouse, pat them dry, and cut each one in half. 2. Rub the birds with salt and spices. Turn on the slow cooker, set it to the sauté (fry) mode, add the vegetable oil, and brown the grouse on both sides until golden. 3. Once browned, pour in the sour cream and switch the cooker to the braise (stew) mode. Cook the meat on one side for 20 minutes, then open the cooker, flip the pieces over, and cook for another 10 minutes. When it's done, transfer the grouse to a plate and serve with fresh herbs and vegetables.
