Homemade pita bread roll with filling

Lavash for a snack roll can be made at home! There are a lot of pita bread roll recipes. Usually lavash is smeared with cream cheese and the filling is spread. I tried to bake pita bread myself, and as a cream cheese I made homemade cottage cheese "Almette". And everyone was satisfied with the result. The recipe "Almette" is familiar to many, it is also on the website "Crunch". In order not to look for it separately, I bring his recipe right away. The filling for the roll is a matter of your taste and preferences, it can be different.

Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 3 h 15 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

For the dough, dissolve the salt in hot water. Sift the flour, make a recess and pour in water. With quick movements, mix the water with flour and knead a homogeneous dough. Do not pour out all the flour at once, leave 2 spoons. If necessary, then use it in the kneading process.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

The dough should be soft. We roll it into a ball, cover it and leave it for half an hour.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Meanwhile, let's cook cottage cheese. Softened at room temperature, butter, cottage cheese and sliced cucumber are crushed in a blender until smooth. Salt to taste. Cottage cheese "almette " is ready.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Divide the dough into 4 parts. The table is well sprinkled with flour so that the rolled dough does not stick to the table. Roll out the dough very (!) thinly. I leveled the future lavash on a plate, the diameter of which approximately corresponds to the diameter of the frying pan (I have 22 cm).

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Heat the pan well. Using a rolling pin, we carefully transfer the rolled layer to the frying pan. Reduce to medium heat.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

Fry the pita bread in a dry frying pan until dark scorched for about 1 minute on each side. When bubbles appear on the cake, we pierce them so that the pita bread fits the entire surface to the pan.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

We remove the finished lavash and sprinkle it with water from the spray bottle. Similarly, we prepare the rest of the pita bread.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

Proceed to the preparation of the roll. Lubricate the pita bread with cottage cheese.

  9. Step 9:

    Step 9.

Sprinkle with finely chopped fresh dill.

  10. Step 10:

    Step 10.

On top - finely chopped crab sticks. It is better to spread the filling, not reaching 2 centimeters to the edge, so that when twisting the components of the roll do not come out.

  11. Step 11:

    Step 11.

Cover with a second sheet of lavash. Similarly, lubricate with cottage cheese and sprinkle with dill.

  12. Step 12:

    Step 12.

I put thinly sliced tomatoes on one half, and pressed meat cut into strips on the other. The filling can be made any way you want. Everything to your taste.

  13. Step 13:

    Step 13.

Then tightly roll up the roll, put it in food wrap and put it in the refrigerator for 2 hours to soak and soften. I got 2 such rolls.

  14. Step 14:

    Step 14.

Before serving, cut the roll into portions. Bon appetit!
