Tiger Shrimp "Appetitto"
An appetizer that works just as well for a romantic evening as for a get-together with friends! I've been using this recipe for years, tweaking it over time to suit my own taste and my family's. We all love good food, so add this little recipe to your collection too!
Cooking method
-
Step 1:
Thaw the tiger shrimp tails (if they're not fresh) and peel them, leaving the last shell segment and the tail on. Make a cut down the back and remove the vein.
-
Step 2:
Prep the seasonings. Crush 4–6 large garlic cloves with the flat of a knife and chop them into small cubes (a garlic press won't do here). I added about a teaspoon of freshly ground black pepper, 1 teaspoon of adjika, and a couple of teaspoons of sesame seeds.
-
Step 3:
Mix all the seasonings with the shrimp and add 4 tablespoons of olive oil (vegetable oil works too, but olive is better).
-
Step 4:
Cover with plastic wrap and let marinate for about 10 minutes.
-
Step 5:
Lay them on a hot skillet with no added oil (there's already plenty in the marinade).
-
Step 6:
Sear on both sides.
-
Step 7:
Arrange on a serving plate. Buon "Appetitto"! )))))))
