Grilled Quail
A simple and sooo delicious recipe :) Today we want to share a recipe for cooking quail. Sometimes you just want to impress your guests or treat yourself to something special. The meat of these little birds is delicious and lean, and it cooks up quick and easy.
Cooking method
-
Step 1:
Take the quail, rinse them, and trim off any excess parts (neck and so on). Pat them dry with a paper towel and get ready to marinate.
-
Step 2:
Rub the birds with salt, freshly ground pepper, spices, and minced garlic. Drizzle with vegetable oil and refrigerate to marinate for 2–3 hours. Overnight is even better — the quail come out especially tasty :)
-
Step 3:
Take the marinated birds out of the fridge and set them on a hot grill. A grill pan or a regular skillet works too (though you won't get those appetizing grill marks that come from cooking on a grill).
Even better, make this outdoors on a barbecue!
-
Step 4:
Cook until done — on average 8–11 minutes (it can take up to 20, depending on the heat, the size of the quail, and how done you like them). Season with freshly ground pepper and serve. Fresh vegetables or a light salad make a great side. You could also roast some vegetables — if you'd like, I'll share some simple, tasty recipes :) Enjoy, everyone!
