Cooking method
-
Step 1:
Hard-boil five eggs, soak two slices of bread in the milk, and gather the rest of the spices and ingredients for these light ground-chicken zrazy with a tender filling.
-
Step 2:
Crack one egg into a bowl holding about 2 lb (1 kg) of ground chicken.
-
Step 3:
Add two crushed garlic cloves, the two soaked slices of bread, salt, the Maggi seasoning, and black pepper to taste.
-
Step 4:
Mix everything together well, then throw the mixture down against the bowl a few times to aerate it and give it a good beating.
-
Step 5:
For the filling, finely chop the fresh herbs along with a small onion.
-
Step 6:
Dice the five hard-boiled eggs.
-
Step 7:
Put the chopped herbs, onion, and eggs on a plate, add 30 g grated hard cheese and 25 g butter, and mix well until combined. Season with a little salt and black pepper to taste.
-
Step 8:
With a wet hand, pinch off small portions of the chicken mixture and flatten each into a patty. Spoon the filling into the center, then gather the edges up and around it to form each zraza.
-
Step 9:
Dredge the zrazy in breadcrumbs and lay them in a hot, oiled skillet, then turn the heat down to low.
-
Step 10:
Fry the zrazy over low heat for 3–4 minutes per side, until golden, then cover the pan with a lid and cook for another 25 minutes.
-
Step 11:
Arrange the finished juicy zrazy on a plate and serve with a side dish, or on their own as an appetizer.
-
Step 12:
Cook it tasty, cook it simple — let's make these zrazy with their tender, juicy filling at home together! Enjoy!
- Incredibly tasty ground-chicken zrazy with a tender filling and rich, creamy flavor! No matter how many of these I make for my family, they vanish from the table in an instant. At holidays the kids beg for seconds and guests rave about the aroma and juicy taste. Zrazy are a delicious dish that came to our table from Poland and Lithuania. They're popular with Belarusian and Ukrainian cooks, who make not only the traditional meat version from pounded beef but also ones from ground meat and potato. Common fillings include hard-boiled eggs, vegetables, mushrooms, and even various grains.
