- Fry the onion, cut into half-moons, in oil until translucent. 2. Add the crushed garlic along with the cumin and salt, stir, and cook for 1–2 minutes. 3. Add the tomatoes (peeled, seeded, and finely chopped), the bell and cayenne peppers (seeded and cut into thin slices), the lemon juice, sugar, paprika, ground pepper blend, and fish broth — bring to a boil and simmer for 5 minutes. 4. Lay the fish into the boiling sauce and simmer until cooked through, about 10 minutes. 5. Sprinkle with chopped herbs, cover, take off the heat, and let the dish rest for 10 minutes. This fragrant, delicious, spicy North African fish dish is ready!
