Moose Patties

In the mood for something exotic? These patties will hit the spot! My parents recently came back from Western Siberia, and they brought home a small gift: some moose meat. After a bit of searching online, I found a moose-patty recipe that suited me perfectly. Let me share it with you now.

  • Start by thawing the moose meat (if needed), rinsing it, and cutting it into small pieces. Grind the prepared meat in a meat grinder — twice, if you like — along with the peeled onion and the white bread that's been soaked in milk. Mix the ground meat mixture thoroughly. If you used a lean cut of moose, you can also grind in a piece of pork fatback. Now shape the mixture into small oblong patties and roll them in breadcrumbs. Fry the patties on both sides until golden. Once they're all done, serve them up. Enjoy!
