Slow-Cooker Braised Beans
A fragrant, punchy dish from everyday ingredients! You can turn something as simple as beans into a first-rate meal — be sure to give it a try! It's not hard or fussy to make; most of the time goes to soaking the beans and letting the slow cooker do its thing. Highly recommend!

- Put the beans in a bowl, cover with cold water, and leave them to swell overnight.
- Cut the bacon into small pieces, put it in the slow cooker bowl, season with salt and pepper, and fry until browned on the "Fry" setting.
- Peel the garlic and press it. Slice the hot pepper into rings and add it to the bacon along with the garlic.
- Peel the onion, cut it into small dice, and add it after the hot pepper. Fry for about 4–5 minutes.
- Now add the sugar and pour in the apple cider vinegar. Stir.
- Add the beans and tomatoes to the slow cooker bowl (purée the tomatoes in a blender first), along with the tomato paste. Top up with the water.
- Round out the flavor with the spices: bay leaf, rosemary, and thyme.
- Choose the "Stew" program and set the time for 1 hour 30 minutes. After the beep, switch the slow cooker to "Pilaf" and keep cooking for one hour.
- Plate the beans, sprinkle with chopped parsley, and serve.
- Enjoy!
