Hungarian Beef Goulash with Bell Pepper
Hungarian goulash is a true culinary masterpiece. The word gulyás means "cattle herdsman" in Hungarian, and the story goes that it was those very Hungarian herdsmen who invented the dish, cooking fresh beef and vegetables out on the pastures over an open fire. It always turned out delicious and filling — so much so that it even earned a place in the rations of the Austro-Hungarian army. Make a proper goulash and taste the refined flavor of Hungarian cooking for yourself.
