Salad with Crab Sticks, Cucumber, and Egg
A hearty, very tasty everyday snack! This salad is very filling and colorful. I love it because it takes hardly any time to make, and the ingredients are almost always in the fridge. The salad's neutral flavor lets you serve it alongside lots of different dishes. Give it a try!
Cooking method
-
Step 1:
Before you start making the salad, boil the eggs and cool them. To do this, cover the eggs with cold water, bring to a boil, and cook for 5–7 minutes. Then drain the water and cover them with cold water so they cool faster.
-
Step 2:
Peel and chop the cooled eggs. Put them in a roomy bowl — the one you'll make the salad in.
-
Step 3:
Chop the crab sticks and add them to the bowl as well.
-
Step 4:
Then add the fresh cucumbers, cut into cubes.
-
Step 5:
Open the can of corn and drain off the liquid. Add the corn to the salad.
-
Step 6:
As a final step, add finely chopped dill and dress the salad with mayonnaise. Mix everything well. Cover the bowl with cling film and put it in the refrigerator to chill the salad a little. Before the gathering, transfer the salad to a suitable serving bowl and bring it to the table. Enjoy!
- Old, tried-and-true recipes are always the tastiest — guests love them and they're the first to disappear. I make this salad for many holidays. It became a timeless classic long ago, and it's handy for how quickly it comes together. If you have enough free time, you can layer the salad in a clear bowl. All the ingredients are colorful, so it'll look very bright and pretty. That said, it's not just for festive feasts — it's just as good for an ordinary family lunch or dinner. Choose the best-quality corn for the salad so it's as sweet as possible. If you like, you can vary it by adding boiled rice, green onion, apples, or boiled meat. That makes it more filling, so you can serve it not only as a starter but also as a main dish. All the salad's ingredients pair perfectly, and together they make a unique, light, delicate salad. It'll be a wonderful addition to any spread!
