Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
Prepare the necessary ingredients for cooking stewed cabbage with beans.
Step 2:
Wash the beans, soak them in cold water for a few hours or overnight.
Step 3:
Boil the beans in boiling salted water until soft. It will take about 50 minutes. Add salt to the beans 15 minutes before they are ready.
Step 4:
Put the finished beans on a sieve to drain the water.
Step 5:
Wash the cabbage, remove the upper leaves. Chop the cabbage into thin strips.
Step 6:
Peel the carrots, chop them on a coarse grater.
Step 7:
Peel the onion, cut into small cubes.
Step 8:
Fry carrots and onions in a frying pan with vegetable oil for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Step 9:
Put the prepared cabbage in the pan, mix. Add a little water.
Step 10:
Simmer the cabbage under the lid, stirring occasionally. If necessary, add a little more water to avoid burning vegetables.
Step 11:
Cook cabbage over moderate heat until it is not fully cooked. Add salt to the cabbage, add tomato paste, mix.
Step 12:
10 minutes before the end of cooking, put boiled beans to the cabbage, add basil, mix. You can add any other seasonings and spices to taste.
Step 13:
Bring the cabbage over low heat until tender.
Step 14:
Serve stewed cabbage with beans, sprinkled with finely chopped fresh herbs. Bon appetit!
