Step 1:
How to make cornbread? Prepare the ingredients. The color of corn flour does not matter - you can take both yellow and white. The fat content of kefir is also not important, take any. Wash the egg and dry it with a napkin.
Step 2:
Sift both types of flour into a deep bowl. You can take store-bought flour or grind cheaper corn grits in a coffee grinder and sift it 1-2 times through a fine sieve. Grind the remaining large particles again in a coffee grinder and sift again.
Step 3:
Add baking soda, baking powder, sugar and salt to the flour. Mix with a whisk so that all the dry ingredients are evenly distributed among themselves.
Step 4:
In another bowl, break the raw egg and shake with a fork or whisk. It is not necessary to beat strongly and for a long time, just so that the protein is mixed with the yolk.
Step 5:
Pour in the kefir at room temperature and mix.
Step 6:
Pour vegetable oil into the resulting kefir mixture. Stir again.
Step 7:
Pour the kefir-egg mixture into the flour.
Step 8:
Mix the dough with a spoon until smooth. You should get a semi-thick dough of yellowish or bright yellow color (depending on the quality and color of corn flour).
Step 9:
Grease the bread baking dish with vegetable oil. Put the dough into it. Bake the corn bread in a preheated 180 °C oven for about 30 minutes. I held the bread for another 10 minutes in the cooling oven to make it more browned. Focus on the features of your oven.
Step 10:
Here is such a ruddy, with a beautiful brown crust, appetizing and delicious bread turned out. The neutral taste of bread allows you to eat it both with sweet additives or with salty spreads. But it's delicious on its own. You can make bread entirely from corn flour. It will turn out a beautiful golden color.
