Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
How to make pearl barley with meat in pots? Prepare everything you need for this. You can use any meat - pork, beef, chicken or turkey. Choose boneless meat.
Step 2:
Cut the meat into small pieces. Pour a little vegetable oil into a hot frying pan and put the chopped meat. Fry it until golden brown for 5-7 minutes. Add a little salt and spices to the meat.
Step 3:
While the meat is frying, prepare the vegetables. Peel the onion and carrot and rinse in running water from dirt. Grate the carrots on a coarse grater, and finely chop the onion.
Step 4:
Put the chopped onions and carrots in a frying pan with the meat and mix. Fry everything together for another 5-6 minutes.
Step 5:
Then add tomato paste and a little water to the pan. Warm up everything together for a couple of minutes.
Step 6:
Rinse the pearl barley well several times in cold water. Then put it in a dry frying pan and fry, stirring, until golden brown. Why fry the pearl barley? This is necessary so that after cooking it is crumbly.
Step 7:
For baking, you can use small pots or one large one. Put the prepared fried meat in a pot.
Step 8:
Then add the fried pearl barley. Meat with pearl barley will occupy about half of the pot. Maybe a little more.
Step 9:
Pour water into the pot so that it is slightly above the level of the pearl barley. But don't pour the whole pot. There should be some space left on top. Otherwise, when baking, it may start to flow over the edge. Add a little chopped garlic to the pot. If necessary, you can add a little more salt.
Step 10:
Cover the pot with a lid and put it in a cold oven. Why cold weather? If a ceramic pot is put in a hot one, it can crack from a sharp temperature drop. And so everything will heat up the same way and gradually. Turn the oven on 200 degrees. After 20 minutes, make the fire a little less, up to 180 degrees. Leave it on for another 1 hour.
Step 11:
When baking, be guided by your oven. You can open the pot a little and check for the amount of water and the softness of the cereal.
Step 12:
Remove the finished dish from the oven and serve it hot. It will look original to serve immediately in a pot. Moreover, in pots, the dish remains hot for a long time. Bon appetit!
Keep in mind that everyone's ovens are different. The temperature and cooking time may differ from those specified in the recipe. To make any baked dish successful, use useful information about the features of ovens !
So that the mucous membrane of the eyes is not irritated when slicing onions, rinse the onion and knife with cold water. The cutting board will not absorb the unpleasant onion smell if you rub it with a piece of lemon before slicing.
