Step-by-step cooking

  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

How to bake mackerel in soy sauce in the oven? Prepare the necessary ingredients for this. Take fresh mackerel, preferably not frozen. Such fish in the finished form will be more juicy. If the fish is frozen, then take it out of the freezer in advance and leave it at room temperature so that it thaws. For defrosting, do not use hot water - it will take all the juices from the fish.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Cut off the head and tail of each fish. Remove the insides and rinse the mackerel well in running water. Then dry it with a paper towel to remove excess moisture from it. Make shallow incisions on the surface of each fish. This will allow the soy sauce to penetrate the fish better.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Sprinkle the mackerel inside and out with lemon juice. Sprinkle with spices for the fish. Leave it to lie down for a while. Salt can not be added, since soy sauce itself is salty.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Peel the onion and rinse it in running water. Cut the peeled onion into half rings or slightly smaller.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Any heat-resistant mold is suitable for baking. I will bake the fish in a ceramic mold. Lubricate the bottom and sides of the mold with vegetable oil. Put almost all the chopped onions on the bottom of the mold.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

Place the prepared mackerel carcasses on top of the onion.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

Pour soy sauce over the fish.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

Put the remaining onion and a few slices of lemon on top. Cover the fish pan with foil and put it in the oven, preheated to 180 degrees for 20 minutes. Then remove the foil and leave the fish in the oven for another 20 minutes.

  9. Step 9:

    Step 9.

Pour the sauce formed on the bottom of the mold over the fish. Remove the finished fish from the oven, transfer to a platter and serve hot. Enjoy your meal!
