Step 1:
How to bake cutlets in tomato sauce in the oven? Prepare the products. You can take any minced meat, I have beef-pork. As a tomato sauce — chopped tomatoes in tomato juice. It can also be replaced with tomato paste diluted in water. Sour cream is suitable for any fat content.
Step 2:
Remove all the crusts from the bread. Ordinary white wheat bread or a loaf is best suited, and stale — it will absorb the liquid better than fresh and make the cutlets juicy. Fill the crumb with a small amount of water. Leave for a few minutes to swell. Then squeeze out excess moisture and drain it, and mash the bread a little with your hand. Instead of water, you can use milk.
Step 3:
Chop the onion in any way you like. You can use a meat grinder, blender, chopper, I just grated it on a grater.
Step 4:
Mix the minced meat, bread, onion, salt and pepper. You can also add any seasonings and spices to your liking.
Step 5:
Form round-shaped cutlets from all the minced meat. Put them in a baking dish or a frying pan that can be put in the oven.
Step 6:
Mix tomato sauce and sour cream. Taste it, if the sauce is not salty at all, add salt.
Step 7:
Pour the cutlets with the resulting sauce. Spread it evenly over the entire form.
Step 8:
Cover the mold with foil. Put it to bake in the oven, preheated to a temperature of 200 ° C for 30-40 minutes.
Step 9:
Then remove the foil from the mold and bake the cutlets for about 10 more minutes so that they turn brown on top. Ready-made cutlets are served to the table hot, sprinkled with sauce, with any side dish or salad. Enjoy your meal!
Cutlets cooked in this way are very juicy. By adding bread, they become soft. It is very convenient to cook them this way — it turns out a lot of ready—made sauce, which is combined with any side dish - mashed potatoes, pasta, buckwheat, rice. You can serve them with any vegetable salad — it will also be useful.
Minced meat for cutlets is absolutely suitable for anyone, it will be delicious even with lean chicken, due to the sauce, the cutlets will not turn out dry.
Instead of bread, you can take breadcrumbs. Then they do not need to be soaked, immediately add them to the stuffing. And the bread itself can be crushed to crumbs and put into minced meat immediately. Sometimes, instead of bread, semolina or crushed oat flakes are added to the cutlets.
To make the cutlets more fragrant, add your favorite spices and garlic to them.
The sauce can be made without sour cream at all, but it turns out to be more tender with it.
