Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 1h
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

How to bake a cake on yogurt? Prepare the necessary products. The butter should be soft, at room temperature. I advise you to soak the poppy in boiling water for 20 minutes - so it will become more fragrant and tender. I didn't do it and then I regretted it. After that, be sure to dry it, removing all excess moisture. Wash the eggs and dry them with napkins.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Pour the yogurt into a bowl, add one large or two small eggs and baking powder.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

    Add softened butter.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Pour sugar into the dough and mix all the ingredients well until smooth. By the way, you can mix after adding each ingredient, this will only further saturate the dough with oxygen.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Enter dry cinnamon and dried poppy seeds into the whipped mass. Stir again.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

Now gradually sift wheat flour into the dough. Do it in parts, because you may take more or less flour than me. Focus on the consistency of the dough. Mix everything until smooth - the dough should become like thick sour cream. Let it stand for 15 minutes.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

Put baking paper greased with sunflower or butter in a baking dish. Then pour out the prepared dough. Put the mold in the oven, heated to 180 degrees.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

Bake at 180 degrees for about 15 minutes. Then I turn down the temperature to 160-150 and bake the pie until ready. Determine the exact time and temperature of baking according to your oven. When the pie is well risen and browned, carefully open the oven - so that it does not fall off immediately from the temperature difference. And check the readiness with a wooden skewer.

  9. Step 9:

    Step 9.

Take the finished cake out of the oven, let it cool down a little and turn it onto a platter. Using a regular thread, cut the pie in half. It's very easy and simple!

  10. Step 10:

    Step 10.

Smear the bottom part of the cake on yogurt with any jam or condensed milk, cover with the second part and cool completely. You can not impregnate the pie with anything at all, do not cut it. You can pour icing on it, sprinkle with powdered sugar or leave it as it is. In any case, it is delicious with tea or coffee.

  11. Step 11:

    Step 11.

Decorate the cake to your taste, I used powdered sugar and some sweets.

Be prepared for the fact that flour may need more or less than indicated in the recipe. Focus not on the amount of flour, but on the desired consistency of the dough. To avoid mistakes, read about flour and its properties!
