How to bake sockeye salmon in the oven? To cook delicious and juicy red fish in the oven, prepare the necessary ingredients.
Step 2:
Wash sockeye salmon fillets thoroughly in running water. Cut into steaks of the same thickness. You should get 4-5 steaks. It is most convenient to cut slightly frozen fish - so the slices will turn out smooth. Therefore, if the fish is fresh, pre-put the fillets in the freezer for 30-40 minutes or a little longer. And if frozen, slice until final defrosting. If you already have sliced frozen steaks, just pre-defrost them in the refrigerator.
Step 3:
In a small bowl, mix the fish spices, salt and ground black pepper. When using a ready-made mixture of spices for fish, be sure to read the composition on the package. Often, salt and pepper are already present in such mixtures, keep this in mind, otherwise you risk over-salting and peppering the dish.
Step 4:
Brush the fish steaks on all sides with lemon juice and rub with a mixture of spices. Leave the fish to marinate for 1 hour. Under the influence of lemon juice, the color of the fillet will change slightly - it will become less bright red and fade.
Step 5:
Shake off excess lemon juice from fish steaks. Transfer the steaks to a baking dish and brush generously with olive oil. Put the sockeye salmon in preheated to 200 °From the oven for 15 minutes. If desired, you can leave the fish in the cooling oven for another 5-7 minutes.
Step 6:
Remove the sockeye salmon from the oven. Put a small piece of butter on each steak.
