Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
How to bake a roll with jam? Prepare the specified ingredients. I chose apple jam for the filling. I recommend taking homemade jam. It happens that the store from the high temperature becomes liquid and can leak out of the roll. Although it can always be "corrected" by mixing it with flour or starch and bringing it to a boil.
Step 2:
To begin, cover the baking sheet with baking paper. Choose a trusted manufacturer so that the roll can be easily removed from the paper. Spread the thick jam on the paper in a thin layer. Important! The number of revolutions of the roll will depend on the area of the baking sheet and the distributed jam: the larger the area, the more revolutions the roll will have and the thinner the layer with dough and jam will be. Leave the jam paper on the baking sheet and take care of the dough.
Step 3:
Turn on the oven to preheat 180 degrees. Divide the eggs into whites and yolks, placing them in different dishes. Sift wheat flour through a fine sieve, mixing it with baking powder.
Step 4:
Beat the egg yolks, add sugar and continue to beat for 1-2 minutes. Add the sifted flour with baking powder and continue whipping for another 3 minutes.
Step 5:
Whisk the egg whites into a fluffy white foam.
Step 6:
Gently with a spatula, slowly insert the whipped whites into a bowl with yolks, sugar and flour.
Step 7:
Pour the prepared dough onto a baking sheet with jam paper so that it completely covers the jam.
Step 8:
Put the baking sheet in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes. The exact baking time will depend on the characteristics of your oven.
Step 9:
Remove the baking tray from the oven. Gently turn the cake onto a clean towel with the jam upside down. Remove the paper. Using the same towel, roll up the cake in the form of a roll.
Step 10:
Cool the finished roll, sprinkle with powdered sugar if desired. Cut the roll into portions when it is completely cooled.
Be prepared for the fact that flour may need more or less than indicated in the recipe. Focus not on the amount of flour, but on the desired consistency of the dough. To avoid mistakes, read about flour and its properties!
Keep in mind that everyone's ovens are different. The temperature and cooking time may differ from those specified in the recipe. To make any baked dish successful, use useful information about the features of ovens !
