Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 35 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

Prepare the specified products for making cookies with fried onions. Cookies turn out lean. A medium-sized onion, if such cookies have not been cooked before, it is better to take a small onion. If you like the cookies, you can experiment with the amount of fried onions in the composition. Soda will need to be extinguished with vinegar.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Peel, wash and dice the onion. Pour vegetable oil into a frying pan (1-2 tbsp. l. in addition to the specified volume) and fry the chopped onion over medium heat. Put the fried onion in a separate plate to cool down. Turn on the oven to preheat at 200 degrees.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

In a deep bowl, mix the sifted flour, salt, soda, slaked vinegar, oil and fried onions. Knead the dough. The dough is well assembled into a ball with your hands.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Roll out the dough on a floured table. This is easiest to do either through a bag or through baking paper so that the dough does not stick to the rolling pin. In general, the dough does not roll out very well. It is better to roll it out in small portions. Cut small pieces with a knife or molds. Place on a baking sheet covered with baking paper and bake for 20-25 minutes.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Let the finished liver cool down. It tastes like a cracker. Perfect for beer.

If the cookies as a result of cooking were not so tasty, crispy and fragrant, then I would definitely never look in his direction again - it's a very time-consuming process of rolling out cookie dough. Be sure to put something between the dough and the rolling pin, otherwise it will stick all the time. It's hard to cut it out with molds, it's better to cut it with a knife right away, and it's faster and more reliable. But no matter how time-consuming it turned out for me to mold cookies, everything was rewarded to taste: it really resembles a cracker, slightly salty, the onion flavor is very bright. It will be great in the company with a glass of cold beer or wine.
You can experiment with cookies: add more or less fried onions, adjust the degree of onion roasting, add various spices and dry herbs.
