Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
How to make a gooseberry pie? Prepare the products. Take natural yogurt with vanilla flavor. Refined vegetable oil, odorless.
Step 2:
Wash the gooseberries under running water and dry them on a towel. Cut the tails on both sides. For a pie, it is advisable to choose dense berries, not soft, so that they do not burst when baking. Therefore, it is better to use green fruits.
Step 3:
In a deep bowl, pour the sifted flour, sugar, baking powder and soda. Mix everything with a whisk. It is important to pre-sift the flour to saturate it with oxygen. Then the cake will turn out to be airy and will rise well when baking.
Step 4:
Add vanilla yogurt, vegetable oil and eggs to the resulting flour mixture.
Step 5:
Mix the dough with a whisk until smooth, it should turn out like thick sour cream. If necessary, you can adjust the desired consistency of the dough yourself by adding a little flour or liquid.
Step 6:
Add most of the gooseberries to the dough and mix.
Step 7:
Grease the baking dish with vegetable oil and sprinkle with breadcrumbs. Thanks to this, it will be easier for you to get the pie out of the mold. Put the dough into a mold, level the top with a spatula. Any heat-resistant form is suitable for this recipe. If you use a silicone mold, then you do not need to smear it with oil and sprinkle with breadcrumbs.
Step 8:
Put the remaining gooseberries on top. Bake the pie in a preheated 180 °C oven for about 50 minutes. The exact time will depend on the characteristics of your oven. When the top layer of baking is slightly browned, check it for readiness: pierce it with a wooden skewer in several places, if the skewer comes out dry, then the mold (or baking sheet) can be taken out of the oven.
Step 9:
Remove the finished cake from the mold, cool and sprinkle with powdered sugar. Cut the gooseberry pie into pieces and serve. Bon appetit!
Be prepared for the fact that you may need more or less flour than indicated in the recipe. Focus not on the amount of flour, but on the desired consistency of the dough. To avoid mistakes, read about flour and its properties!
