Carrot Salad with Garlic and Cheese

A budget-friendly, simple salad for any occasion. An all-season, quick salad with carrots, cheese, and garlic. All the ingredients harmonize beautifully, creating a wonderful range of flavors. The salad looks very bright, colorful, and festive. You can always whip it up fast when guests arrive, or just to treat yourself. Kids who refuse to eat carrots on their own will devour this salad. The next day it's even tastier. You can garnish it the classic culinary way - with fresh herbs.

Cooking method

Cooking time: 15 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1

Gather the salad ingredients. My one large carrot weighs just the right amount; if your carrots are smaller, use two or three to get 250 grams. Use 50%-fat mayonnaise. The cheese is a paprika cheese.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2

Peel a thin layer off the carrot and cut it into strips. I cut the carrot into 3 pieces, then sliced each into planks, and the planks into strips. Cut them as thin as possible. You can also use a Korean-style carrot grater or a regular one, but I preferred this method.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3

Grate the cheese on a coarse grater.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4

Peel the garlic and grate it on a fine grater or run it through a press. You can use three cloves right away instead of two, or add more to taste at the end if you want a sharper salad.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5

Put all the prepared salad ingredients into a large deep bowl: carrots, cheese, and garlic, and add the mayonnaise. The salad's flavor depends on the mayonnaise too, so use a trusted brand - though it's best to make your own.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6

Mix all the ingredients. The salad is ready. Now it needs to sit for a while so it soaks through and becomes as tasty as possible.

  • A very easy salad recipe you can make any time of year. Many people have carrots stored in their cellars since fall, but they're also always available at the store and cheap. Carrots are a treasure trove of vitamins we need for our health, so the benefits of this salad are obvious. Choose juicy carrots and the result definitely won't disappoint. Cook and eat with pleasure and a good mood. And don't forget to treat your friends!
