Cooking method
Cooking cod is simple and fast, and if you supplement it with aromatic herbs, spices, butter and add sourness from lemon and tomatoes, you will get a real masterpiece!
1. We will prepare products for this delicious dish:
- my cod steaks, and then dry thoroughly with paper towels, blotting out excess moisture with them;
- wash and dry cherry tomatoes;
- under warm water using a sponge for washing dishes, I wash the lemon to wash off the preservative layer, and then cut it into circles. A piece of lemon can be left to pour the juice from it into the finished dish.;
- garlic cloves are washed, dried and cut off their tips, and we do not remove the husk - it will be more interesting and fragrant this way;
- we rinse the thyme sprigs and parsley - we will need the first ones for baking, and we will decorate the finished dish with parsley, because it can be spread out on a towel to dry. Then chop the parsley finely with a knife.
2. Turn on the oven to warm up to 200 degrees Celsius, and at this time we continue cooking.
3. Sprinkle the cod steaks with salt and freshly ground black pepper, rub the fish pieces on all sides with seasonings. In a medium-sized bowl, mix olive oil, whole cherry tomatoes, lemon slices, garlic cloves and thyme sprigs. Spread the resulting mixture into a baking dish, put the cod steaks on top and press them slightly to the bottom.
4. We put the mold in the oven that has had time to warm up for 15 minutes. The fish should lose transparency during this time, and with a fork it can be disassembled into fibers, which indicates full readiness.
We serve the finished dish hot on the table, not forgetting to sprinkle with finely chopped parsley and pour freshly squeezed lemon juice.
