Cooking method

Step 1. Prepare the ingredients:

- wash the figs, cut into quarters and put them in a ceramic container. Pour boiling water over the figs so that the fruit is completely covered with water. Cover the container with a lid and put it aside for one hour.

Step 2. Preparing the base of the pie:

- three butter on a grater or cut into small cubes, transfer to the bowl of a blender (food processor), add flour, a pinch of salt and grind together until crumbs. You can do this without using technology - just rub the flour and butter to crumbs with a spoon or hands;

- continuing to rub the dough, pour ice water into it (two tablespoons), mix until smooth;

- we sprinkle flour on the work surface, spread the dough, form a round layer with a diameter of 20 cm, which we wrap in plastic wrap and put in the refrigerator for 10 minutes;

- when this time has passed, we remove the dough from the refrigerator, then place it in a baking dish with a diameter of 23 cm, level it, form small sides about three centimeters high. We put the mold with the base in the refrigerator for 15 minutes;

- turn on the oven to warm up to 200 degrees Celsius;

- remove the mold with the base from the refrigerator and make punctures with a fork on all surfaces. After we put a sheet of parchment (at least 30 cm in diameter) on the dough, fill it with beans or beans on top;

- put the mold in the oven for 15 minutes, then remove the parchment with beans and bake the base for another 15 minutes (until light golden);

- we cool the finished base for 10 minutes, and at this time we prepare the filling.

Step 3. Prepare the filling:

- my apples, cut into quarters, cut out the cores, stems. Then cut them into thin slices. It is advisable to choose apples of the same size so that the slices also turn out to be the same. This will provide a beautiful and aesthetic appearance of the finished cake;

- drain the water from the container with figs, squeeze it slightly and put it in the bowl of a blender. Grind the figs to a paste;

- in a separate container, combine cream, eggs and vanilla extract. Whisk everything together until smooth;

- reduce the oven temperature to 160 degrees;

- we spread the crushed figs on the base in an even layer, we spread the slices of apples beautifully on it, pour everything on top with an egg-cream mixture;

- put the pie in the oven for 45 minutes (until golden brown);

- let the finished cake cool down a little and serve it to tea in a warm form.

Such a pie is stored for a day, but it tastes best only baked.
