Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
How to make a seaweed salad with crab sticks and egg? Prepare the products. I took the sea cabbage ready-made, in the form of canned food, there is no oil or other additives in it, only salt and spices. My crab sticks are chilled. If you have frozen, then pre-defrost them. Eggs should be boiled in advance for 7-9 minutes and completely cooled. If you don't have a purple onion, then take a regular one.
Step 2:
Peel the crab sticks from the film, and then cut into small cubes. The film in which each crab stick is wrapped is sometimes poorly removed. To facilitate the process, hold the sticks over the steam for 1-3 seconds.
Step 3:
Peel the eggs and chop them into the same small cubes as the sticks. The salad will look nice and neat if you cut all the ingredients into the same size and shape pieces.
Step 4:
Peel the onion and cut it into half rings.
Step 5:
Put cabbage, crab sticks, eggs and onions in a bowl. If there is too much liquid in the cabbage, then pre-fold it on a sieve.
Step 6:
Add mayonnaise. Mix it up. Try the salad with salt. Add salt to taste. I usually don't add salt to salads with mayonnaise, but it's a matter of taste. Like pepper, add it or not — it's up to you. Cool the finished salad a little in the refrigerator, and then serve it on the table. Enjoy your meal!
Sea cabbage for this salad is suitable for almost any. You can take a ready-made pickled one, you can pickle it yourself. Pickled cabbage is made either from dried algae or frozen. There are many recipes for cooking pickled cabbage on our website, use the search.
You can buy ready-made salad or canned food, like mine. But still try to choose cabbage, where there are fewer additives. Vegetables in the form of carrots will do, but various mayonnaise or oil dressings are no longer the same.
If the cabbage is in the marinade, then throw it into a colander and let the liquid drain. Cut too long algae into small strips.
Mayonnaise is the most common dressing for this salad. If you watch your weight and follow a dietary diet, then replace mayonnaise with butter or natural yogurt.
There is a minimal set of products in this recipe, but you can make a more complex version. Fresh cucumbers or corn, squid, green peas are well suited for such a salad.
You can serve this salad both in portions and in one dish. If all the ingredients are folded with chamomile, where the petals are the products, and the center is the dressing, then you will get a beautiful festive dish.
How to cook hard-boiled eggs? So that the eggs do not crack when cooking, put them in cold water and put them to cook on a small fire. Boil the eggs for 9 minutes after boiling, then pour cold water and cool. From a sharp temperature drop, the shell will be better cleaned.
How to buy crab sticks correctly? Be sure to pay attention to the expiration date of the product. Surimi meat (minced white fish) should appear in the list of ingredients in the first place. Important! Do not buy the product if there is frost on it. This is a sign of repeated freezing. Fresh sticks should be free of gray and yellow spots, elastic and slightly moist. If the product is sticky, it means it is spoiled.
It is better to prepare mayonnaise yourself. It will be tastier and healthier. See here interesting
recipes for homemade mayonnaise.
Also, as a dressing, you can use not only mayonnaise, but also sour cream or natural yogurt. They can be taken separately or mixed with mayonnaise in any proportion to your taste - this will reduce the calorie content of the dish.
