Meat pie in a pot

Fragrant, tender and satisfying, and even with a crispy crust! I've been wanting to cook this pie for a long time, everything somehow didn't work out, and so I did it and didn't regret it, the pie is just delicious! Try it and you, I'm sure you'll like it!

Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 1 h 30 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

The products we need to prepare the filling.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Cut the turkey fillet into a small cube. Turkey can be replaced with chicken and any other meat, I took the turkey only for the reason that I had it in the refrigerator.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Heat the frying pan with olive oil and fry the meat on low heat for 10 minutes (depending on the type of meat, the time is either reduced or increased). The meat does not need to be fried until crisp.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

While the meat is frying, we cut the vegetables to stew. Mushrooms in plates, and onions, carrots and peppers in cubes, you can also increase or decrease the number of ingredients to taste.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

When the meat is slightly stewed, add the vegetables, cover with a lid and simmer for 10 minutes.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

    Add butter.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

As soon as the butter has melted, add the flour. Mix it up.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

Pour in the broth and simmer until the meat is ready.

  9. Step 9:

    Step 9.

Pour in the cream and add the green peas. Mix it up. Add salt, pepper, if desired, you can add herbs and simmer for another 3 minutes.

  10. Step 10:

    Step 10.

We put our filling in pots or cremans.

  11. Step 11:

    Step 11.

Puff pastry (I took puff-yeast, but puff is better) roll out. We cut out circles, slightly larger than the diameter of the pots.

  12. Step 12:

    Step 12.

Grease the edges of the mold with beaten egg (so the dough will better hold on to the edges of the molds). We cover the pots with dough on top.

  13. Step 13:

    Step 13.

Grease the dough with egg. From the remains of the dough, you can cut figures for decoration, I have these flowers :) From above, we necessarily make several through-cuts in the test, so that steam would come out. Bake in a preheated 200 C oven for about 20 minutes, until golden brown.

  14. Step 14:

    Step 14.

We serve the finished pie to the table and enjoy it. Bon appetit!

  15. Step 15:

    Step 15.

We do not throw away the leftovers from the dough. We collect them into a lump and roll them out about 3 mm thick, cut the layer into strips, smear the egg on top and sprinkle with sugar, bake at 200 C for about 15-20 minutes until golden.

The pie is very tender and fragrant. You can cook it with any filling, you can take any meat, only if you take chicken, it's better to take meat from the thighs, instead of fillets, and vegetables can be selected to your taste and according to availability in the refrigerator. It is better to take puff pastry, since puff-yeast is strongly deformed during baking, it turns out delicious, but the appearance suffers a little. Never throw away the leftovers from the dough, you can make very tasty sticks for tea or coffee from them, my family loves them very much.
Bon appetit!
