Step 1:
How to make potato casserole? Prepare the products according to the list. You can take any minced meat - beef, pork, chicken, turkey. I have mixed, beef-pork.
Step 2:
Wash and peel the potatoes well. If you have large tubers, then cut them into small pieces. Fill the potatoes with cold water and put them to cook on a small fire. Use good water, filtered or bottled, the taste of mashed potatoes depends on its taste. Cook the potatoes for 25 minutes, add salt at the end.
Step 3:
While the potatoes are cooking, fry the minced meat. Peel the onion and cut into small cubes.
Step 4:
Preheat the frying pan, pour vegetable oil on it. Put the onion in the pan. Fry the onion, stirring it, for about 5 minutes, until transparent.
Step 5:
Add minced meat to the pan. Using a spatula, break all the large lumps, achieving uniformity. Season the meat with salt and pepper. You can add your favorite seasonings and spices.
Step 6:
Fry the minced meat under the lid on low heat for 15 minutes.
Step 7:
When the potatoes are ready, drain the water from them. Preheat the milk to a hot state and pour it into a saucepan with potatoes. Mash the potatoes in mashed potatoes with a potato masher. Add the butter, mix the puree well again.
Step 8:
Take the baking dish. Put the fried minced meat in the first layer.
Step 9:
Spread a layer of mashed potatoes on top.
Step 10:
Grate the cheese on a coarse grater.

Sprinkle the casserole with grated cheese.
Step 12:
Bake the casserole in the oven at 180 °C for about 40 minutes. The cheese should melt and gild.
