Cooking method
I tried a very delicious and beautiful chocolate cake with toffee at a friend's birthday party. She was happy to share with me the culinary recipe of this sweet food. Making a cake takes a lot of time, but seeing the result, you instantly forget about the difficulties. Dried fruits are soaked in 45 ml of rum for several hours, periodically stirring them. At this time, we prepare the dough: mix wheat flour with pieces of cold butter (150g) with a blender, adding 50g. granulated sugar. Then add egg yolks and 30 ml of rum to the dough, stirring with a spoon, and quickly assemble the dough into a lump. It can be heterogeneous, the main thing is to gather into a ball, wrap it in a film and send it to the refrigerator for an hour. After the time has elapsed, we roll out the cold dough directly on the film to a thickness of 0.5 cm and turn it into a pie mold. We distribute the dough according to the shape, cutting off the excess edges, and put it in the refrigerator for 15 minutes. Then bake the cake base (pre-pricked with a fork in several places) in a preheated 190 degree oven for 20 minutes. And while the cake is baking, we prepare toffee: melt 40 grams of butter with brown sugar, then add cream (200 ml) and cook over high heat until thickening for about 10 minutes. Cool the toffee and put dried fruits and chopped walnuts in it. Mix and pour, evenly distributing, into the baked form. Next, we break the chocolate into pieces and pour the remaining hot cream, rum, and then mix until a smooth shiny mass is formed. Pour the chocolate mass on the cake and remove to cool. We make protein cream from proteins and 120 grams of sugar and decorate the top of the cake. A beautiful chocolate cake with toffee is ready, bon appetit!
