Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
How to make a cottage cheese casserole in the microwave with semolina? First, prepare all the necessary ingredients. I have cottage cheese with 5% fat content, but you can take absolutely any, up to fat-free, if you have nothing against it. Sugar can be replaced with sweet vegetable syrup. If desired, add a little vanilla sugar. Then the casserole will become even more fragrant. Vegetable oil will only be needed to lubricate the mold.
Step 2:
In a deep bowl, mix the cottage cheese, beat in the egg and add sugar.
Step 3:
Then add semolina and baking powder. The baking powder is responsible here for the additional height of the casserole, and semolina is responsible for stabilizing its volume after cooling.
Step 4:
Using a mixer (or a simple whisk), mix the curd mass until smooth.
Step 5:
A form suitable for baking in a microwave oven, lubricate with a small amount of sunflower oil. Put the curd mass into the mold so that 2-3 centimeters remain from the edge, since the casserole will rise very well during cooking. By the way, I have a ceramic mold with a diameter of 10 centimeters.
Step 6:
Put the casserole in the microwave. It will be good to cover the mold with a special protective cover for the microwave. Bake the dish for 10 minutes at 800 watts. If you have a more powerful microwave, it will take less time, and vice versa. Also note that even two identical models of microwaves can work differently, the time and power are indicated approximately. The casserole should stabilize, that is, become dense on top and not spread.
Step 7:
Cottage cheese casserole is usually served with sour cream. If desired, you can decorate the dish with your favorite berries. Enjoy your meal!
Tip: when choosing a form, keep in mind that such a casserole in the microwave greatly increases in volume. So that it does not "run away", take a form suitable for microwaves of sufficient size, and also monitor the cooking process, especially if you are cooking for the first time - it is better to stop the microwave for a while and fix the dough or put it in a larger shape (if you still did not guess the size) than to spoil the dish and to wash the device due to their own inattention.
In my opinion, from the traditional casserole, which is cooked in the oven, the casserole from the microwave differs only in that it will not be so browned on top. And for the rest, it is exactly the same delicious, lush and sweet dish, and it is also prepared much faster. And if you don't see much difference, then why waste extra time?
Baked goods cooked in the microwave, always will differ in taste and structure of the dough from the one that was made in the oven or slow cooker. It doesn't mean she's bad/good - she's just OTHER . The crumb of a cupcake, pie, casserole and so on will be unusual and it is quite possible that you will not like it. If you have doubts about the taste of dough dishes in the microwave, it is better not to cook them!
Keep in mind that microwaves do not work the same way. The cooking time and recommended power may differ from those stated in the recipe. Read the instructions for your device and cook taking into account the features of your technique, as well as look for all the secrets and subtleties in the article about microwaves.
Important! In order for the curd dough or filling to be successful, it is important to carefully consider the choice of cottage cheese. A low-quality product can spoil baking, as it directly affects the consistency, taste and final result. How to choose the right cottage cheese for dough or filling read in this article .
