  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

How to make a roll of pita bread with melted cheese? First, prepare the necessary ingredients. For this recipe, both ordinary Armenian lavash and wheat roll are suitable, depending on what is available in the store. If your pita bread or roll is long (I have a length of 1 m), then cut it in half into two parts. If the pita bread is small, take 2 pieces.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Wash the cucumber, dry it and cut it into thin circles. The peel from the cucumber, if it is not rough, not damaged and not bitter, is not necessary to cut it off. However, so that the cucumber does not tear the pita bread, I still cut off the skin from it.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Hard-boiled eggs, cool, peel and grate on a coarse grater.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Peel the basil leaves from the twigs and rinse. I didn't have fresh basil on hand, so I replaced it with young small spinach.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Peel the bell pepper from the seeds and stalks, and cut the pulp into small cubes.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

Pass garlic through a press or grate on a fine grater.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

Combine the melted cheese, mayonnaise and garlic in a bowl and mix.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

Smear the first sheet of lavash with half of the cheese-mayonnaise mass.

  9. Step 9:

    Step 9.

Sprinkle the pita bread with half of the grated eggs and arrange the cucumber circles.

  10. Step 10:

    Step 10.

Cover the top with a second sheet of lavash and sprinkle with the remaining grated eggs and bell pepper. Spread basil or spinach leaves on top.

  11. Step 11:

    Step 11.

Roll the pita bread into a tight roll and wrap it in plastic wrap.

  12. Step 12:

    Step 12.

Put the roll in the refrigerator for 1 hour for impregnation.

  13. Step 13:

    Step 13.

Cut the chilled roll into portions and serve it to the table. Enjoy your meal!

It is better to prepare mayonnaise yourself. It will be tastier and healthier. See here interesting recipes for homemade mayonnaise.
Also, as a dressing, you can use not only mayonnaise, but also sour cream or natural yogurt. They can be taken separately or mixed with mayonnaise in any proportion to your taste - this will reduce the calorie content of the dish.

How to choose the right pita bread? First of all, look at the date of manufacture on the package. Do not take expired pastries. Fresh pita bread should have a pleasant smell. Take a good look so that there are no stains and signs of mold on it.

It is desirable to cook such pita bread on the day of the celebration, not earlier, because because of the wet processed cheese, the pita bread can get very wet and lose its taste.
