Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
Prepare the foods needed to make this nutritious salad. You will need radish (in this case, black), mayonnaise, sour cream, onions, salt, ground black pepper. You can also take some fresh herbs to your taste. Choose sour cream and mayonnaise of good quality, it should be a proven product that suits you.
Step 2:
Thoroughly wash the radish with a stiff brush or washcloth under running water. Thinly cut off the black skin with a sharp knife. The white pulp of the peeled radish must be grated on a coarse grater. Put the chopped radish in a large bowl.
Step 3:
Next, you can use radish for salad as it is, fresh, but in this case the radish will have a strong pungent taste and smell. You can soften it by pouring radish for 10-15 minutes with boiling water. Radish will become significantly more delicate and softer in taste.
Step 4:
Peel the onion and cut into quarter rings of medium thickness. As well as radish, onions can be poured with boiling water to soften the taste, or you can leave it as it is, especially for sweeter salad varieties of onions - such onions can be left fresh.
Step 5:
Squeeze the radish properly, put the onion on a strainer and when all the water drains, add it to the salad. Add salt to the salad, add ground black pepper to taste, put sour cream and mayonnaise. Gently stir the dish.
Step 6:
In general, the radish salad with mayonnaise is ready to serve. But it will be much tastier if it is put in the refrigerator for a few hours. Radish and especially onions will be marinated in a mixture of mayonnaise, sour cream, salt, pepper and the dish will become tastier and richer. Wash the fresh herbs, shake and finely chop. Sprinkle the finished salad with chopped herbs.
To preserve the maximum of vitamins and soften the taste of radish, there is another technique - grated radish is left open in a bowl for several hours, stirring occasionally. There is an opinion that this way the radish will become less "burning".
