Turkish baklava — oriental sweetness with honey and nuts. There is an opinion that Turkey is the birthplace of this sweet. Baklava is one of those dishes thanks to which the cuisine of the East is considered unique. Previously, baklava was served only on the tables of sultans and viziers, and this is no accident - it has a royal taste!

    Sift the flour into a large bowl, make a recess, break one egg there and add 50 grams of melted butter and a pinch of salt. Pour a glass of warm milk into the same place.

    Stir the egg-butter-milk mixture with a fork, gradually adding flour from the edges of the recess, knead the dough. It should be dense and elastic.

    When the dough is ready, cover it with a kitchen towel and put it in a warm place for half an hour.

    Filling. Chop the nuts to crumbs, add powdered sugar and cinnamon, mix.

    After half an hour, get the dough and divide it into 20 identical balls.

    Take one ball of dough, roll it into a thin plate, then grease with melted butter.

    Put the filling on the plate, about 2 tablespoons, retreating 2-3 centimeters from the edges of the plate. Put a pencil or a small stick on top.

    Roll up the plate in the form of a roll with a pencil.

    Slide the edges of the roll to the middle and remove the pencil.

    Roll 20 rolls this way. Grease the baking dish with butter and put the cooked rolls on it tightly to each other. Mix the egg yolk with a spoonful of milk and lubricate each roll with this mixture. Next, we send the form to a preheated 200 degree oven for 10-15 minutes.

    After the time has elapsed, get the baklava and grease with the remaining melted butter. Put it in the oven, reducing the temperature to 170 degrees and cook for 40 minutes to 1 hour until the baklava is completely golden. (It may take a little less or a little more time, be guided by your oven).

    While baklava is baking, prepare the syrup. Mix honey and water in a saucepan, put on fire and cook this mixture for about 10 minutes after boiling. (Choose natural, fragrant honey, the taste of the finished baking will depend on the taste of honey)

    At the end of the baking time, remove the baklava from the oven and pour the prepared honey syrup, let it brew for about 1.5-2 hours. And you can enjoy!
