Of course, the right time to prepare a tincture of black mountain ash is after the first frosts. The berries look ripe in August, but they acquire all useful properties only at the time of the first cold snap. In general, most of these tinctures are prepared according to the same scheme, they just use different berries for this. The recipe for making a tincture of chokeberry is quite simple, but the total cooking time is about 2 months.
The collected berries should be thoroughly washed, put in a jar and crushed (for this use a wooden pusher).
Then add the cloves and sugar and mix well.
We cover the jar with gauze on top and leave it in the room for two days.
After two days we pour vodka, cover it with a lid and put it away for two months in a dark cool place (closet or pantry).
The resulting drink has a stunning color and looks great on a festive table.
