Italian-Style Pasta
The simplest and tastiest dish — Italian-style pasta! Italian dishes are in high demand around the world these days, and pasta is especially popular. There are a great many different recipes for it, owing to their origins in different regions of Italy. Italian-style pasta is made with cream, tomato, or cheese sauce, with vegetables or meat. The simplest and most versatile recipe is the tomato (vegetable) version. It can be served as a dish on its own or as a side for meat, and it comes together in minutes from just a few ingredients.
Cooking method
-
Step 1:
Gather the ingredients. Italian cuisine likes a more refined flavor, so feel free to add more hot spices. You can also add olives, capers, hot chili, and plenty of fresh herbs — frozen herbs work too. But even without them, the pasta comes out delicious, fragrant, and zesty.
-
Step 2:
Finely chop the garlic or press it through a garlic press.
-
Step 3:
Heat the olive oil in a skillet. Add the chopped garlic and fry for about 5 minutes. By then it should turn translucent and lightly golden.
-
Step 4:
Wash the tomatoes and cut them into small cubes. If the tomatoes are large with tough skins, it's best to scald them with boiling water and peel them before chopping. Add the tomatoes to the garlic in the skillet. Sauté the vegetables over low heat for 15 minutes, until the tomatoes release their juices.
-
Step 5:
Then add the cilantro and parsley and salt to taste, stir, and add some chili if you like. Cook for about 3 more minutes, then turn off the heat. Don't cook it too long, so the herbs don't burn and the sauce doesn't cook away.
-
Step 6:
Meanwhile, you can cook the pasta. Bring a pot of water to a boil and add salt. Add the pasta. Cook until done, following the time given on the package. Cooking time depends on the shape, quality, and brand. Drain the pasta. Drizzle it with olive oil and toss gently so it doesn't stick together.
-
Step 7:
Plate the cooked pasta and top it with the tomato sauce. Serve Italian-style pasta as a dish on its own or as a side for meat. Enjoy!
