Dried Apricot and Prune Compote
A very tasty, wholesome, and nourishing drink for the whole family. Compote is one of the few drinks that combine great flavor, health benefits, and nourishment all at once. It's the first drink given to babies starting solids, and it's served at lunch in hospitals, schools, and kindergartens. And it's very easy to make — all you need to buy is dried fruit: prunes and dried apricots.
Cooking method
-
Step 1:
Rinse the dried fruit thoroughly under running water. Ideally, after rinsing, hold it in boiling water for about 10 minutes to remove any debris and kill off germs.
-
Step 2:
Meanwhile, bring the water to a boil in a pot and dissolve the sugar in it.
-
Step 3:
Add the dried fruit to the boiling water and cook for about 15 minutes. Then turn off the heat, add the citric acid, and leave the compote covered for an hour.
-
Step 4:
The compote is delicious both warm and cold. Serve it with baked goods. Enjoy!
